NGC 7000, The North America Nebula was so named for obvious reasons. This nebula takes a little less imagination than some others to understand how it's namesake came into being. It resides in the summer Constellation of Cygnus the Swan about 3 degrees east of the bright star Deneb which is not visible in this photo. The night I shot this photo I spent a considerable amount of time observing the Golf of Mexico region with my Celestron 80mm GT Refractor, the only part of the Nebula I could see real definition in. In the lower right of this photo is another Emission Nebula IC 5070, The Pelican Nebula. Use your imagination on this one. He's facing to the left of the photo. My 80mm Refractor revealed nothing to me of this Nebula as it is much more faint than NGC 7000.
