NGC 7000, The North America Nebula was so named for obvious reasons. This nebula takes a little less imagination than some others to understand how it's namesake came into being.

It resides in the summer Constellation of Cygnus the Swan about 3 degrees east of the bright star Deneb which is not visible in this photo. This photo is rotated 90 degrees to my other NGC7000 shots simply because it seems to have visual appeal to me this way.

If you compare this shot to my other North America Nebula shots you can see that this shot would be of about the "Central America" region. I've shot it twice before. Once with Color Film and once with high resolution Black and White Tech Pan 2415.

Additional Photographic Notes: Hydrogen Alpha (Ha) is light emitted on the spectral line of about 656 manometers from Ionized Hydrogen not visible to the human eye.

This photo is on my re-shoot list. The night I took it the fog was so thick I couldn't see even 1,000 ft down the runway, so the transparency was about a 3 out of 10.
